Alternate : Lodges at Bapatla (9Kms; 20 min from The Beach)

Surya Lanka is 381 Kms away from Hyderabad. Driving to suryalanka could be a good option.; as the only transport from Bapatla (the railway station) will be the 7 seater Autos. According to me it's a great idea to have a vehicle at your disposal; than be fretting for the Auto. Though it dint seem very difficult to find one. But with your own car, you can spend that extra long min.. if you wish to; without thinking of the missing train.

The place is just getting to be famous, so do not expect a great deal from it! having said that it's not a dirty beach... probably because it's not crowded at all.. When i was at the beach, (over a weekend) there probably were 50 people; not more than that, and it looked like most of them were people living close by. The beach is open for all; you can actually get your vehicle and drive on the beach.. like in Hindi movies.. only with some other random people around.

Must keep your eyes open; for the amazing designs made by crabs.

We started at about 07:00AM from Hyderabad and reached Suryalanka by 03:40PM. The drive included a brekfast stop and another pit stop for some Nariyal pani (coconut water). Had lunch at the beach resort; the food was really really good! it's not a place to watch sunset; but dude!!!!!!! it's a beach... i dint feel the need of anything else. We left the beach at about 06:40; The changing rooms were not all that great.. the place has water problem.. BIG time!!! but again they were not all that bad either.. we headed back to the hotel; Checked in, ordered food. Please do that if staying at this lodge; coz it takes lots of time for him to get you food. also make sure you check your order and ask the waiter for the bill.. though it is a bill on just a white sheet; they took us for a ride. The practice i guessed is, not to give any change back.

Sunday; day 2
We were up and ready by about 04:30AM; (read that as mid night...) left for the beach, if you want to view the sunrise; you will have to be at the beach by about the same time. There wont be any (chai) tea vendors.. which is terrible.. but there will be so much happening you'll probably give the morning tea a miss. .. you'll see the fishermen in these smalll boats.. fighting against the fierce waves.. into the Sea.. and heading back with their catch... if you choose to buy a fish, we were told they'll also cook it for you. make sure you ask them to make it less spicy.. people from this part of AP eat food really chillly hot!!

The sunrise and then breakfast by the sea; again at the AP guest house. Amazing food. You can actually carry folding chairs... and have it with the waves touching your foot.. :).. i wish we could do that!! There is no police on the beach.. which is a little sad because in case of any casualty that happens.. there is no medication available. no life guards.. of course i dint witness anything happen. (thank god for that!! )

We headed back to the hotel by about 10:00; started from the hotel at about 11:00; with about 4 stops 3 pip stops one lunch stop. we reached Hyderabad by about 08:30pm. Not bad at all; We faced a major Jam on the NH9.
